Punk bowed his head, smiling to himself he resisted the urge to fidget with the tie around his neck. She hadn't wanted him to wear it but he had just the same because he knew her family would appreciate it. He couldn't believe he loved her so much that he would do this, just to make her smile and to make her mother smile when his family had barely bothered to show up.
Of course...his "family" was there. Colt, Ace...everyone he had trained with, and formed around him in some kind of protective shield. Colt and Joe were standing with him, the ladder kept joking around that he was going to crash the party and if he did it would be the one time Punk would be tempted to punch his friend out of anger.
He loved her that much.
This much.
She was his future, his everything and he could see all the possibilities of his life after wrestling in her eyes.
Glancing up his voice was lost as she walked toward him, her face framed by lace and a radiant smile on her face.
He stepped forward and she took his arm, allowing him to lead her for once.
Lita very rarely did that. She liked to be in control, and Punk, the master of control in almost every aspect of his life allowed her to do it because he trusted her that much.
"And now, read what you have prepared," the Judge told them, neither of them being particularly religious it was something they had stood for, against her family for because it made it mean more. It made it their day.
"My future," Punk recited, kissing her forehead.
"My lover," Lita quirked her lips at him, smiling crookedly and trying not to cry even though she had sworn she wouldn't even be compelled to.
"My life," Punk bit his bottom lip, nervousness overtaking him. He wasn't sure what he would do if she cried, he had rarely seen it happen and the last time had been when her dog had died, it had broken his heart.
"My everything," Lita couldn't resist kissing him softly on the lips.
"My wife," Punk breathed, his dark eyes filled with solemnity.
"My husband," Lita sniffled, a tear slipping down her cheek which he immediately swiped away.
"Now the rings," the Judge glanced at Joe and Colt who momentarily pretended they lost them but gave them up quickly when Punk glared at them.
"I Phil, give you Lita this ring as a symbol of my love, affection and respect." He slipped the ring on her finger, holding his hand out even though he felt somewhat idiotic doing so.
"I Lita, give you Punk," laughter broke out and she grinned up at him impishly, "As a symbol of my love, affection, respect and commitment," Lita slipped it on his hand then took it in hers.
The Judge smiled at them both and raised his hand, "By the power vested in me by the state of Georgia I now pronounce you husband and wife, equals in life and all that may come to you. You may now kiss the bride."
"Oh I don't think so," Lita looked wicked and pulled Punk down into a heated kiss, not caring when he laughed into it or wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her solidly against him.
Punk pulled back, pressing his forehead against hers. "Congratulations."
Lita laughed at him, "You too babe, you too." She winked. "Let's party."
