Table is here.
"Hello," it was the first thing that came to mind when he first laid his eyes on her, and he was glad because well...it was a pretty good place to start any conversation he thought.
He didn't know what else to say, and words failed him even after she had said hello back.
Amy was, in a word, stunning.
Even more than that, she was pretty damn kick ass, something he could really admire in a girl.
A woman.
"Are you okay?" she asked, her tone filled with amusement as she looked at him.
Phil managed to nod his head, smirking somewhat. "More than okay," he said almost cockily.
Yes, he was a jackass.
It was like the filter between knowing how to truly treat a woman, and hiding behind a persona he knew would protect him had broken.
"Right," Amy responded, laughing softly she seemed to know just how to handle him. "Whatever you say, kid."
Kid? Phil thought to himself, frowning somewhat before he could stop himself.
He could already tell that she was going to be a challenge, but somehow he didn't mind that too much.
"So," Amy didn't linger long on the word, "do you have a name or can I just make one up for you?"
That little smirk returned, "My family calls me Phil, but you can call me Punk."
She nodded a little to herself, "Punk," repeating it aloud and he liked the way it sounded coming from her. "You can call me Amy."
"Amy," he tested the name out, frowning almost comically, "I think I liked the name I came up with in my head better than your real name."
"Oh really?" Amy looked and sounded purely amused, he certainly had her interest now. "And what name would that be?"
He grinned, disarming her momentarily and causing her to grin as well. "I don't think I'll tell you yet."
She laughed, she couldn't help it then, "and just what makes you so certain that we'll meet again for you to tell me?"
Phil shrugged, "I just know we will."
Amy grinned, unable to help herself in doing so. He was clever, definitely someone she would enjoy being around, for however long she was.
"You're a smart ass aren't you?" she asked him.
Phil smirked again, and Amy couldn't deny the look, so cocky and arrogant got to her.
"I guess, although I believe my intelligence has more to do with the brain in my head than my ass," he leaned back, resting his elbows on the bleacher seat behind him.
"So, you wrestle?" he questioned her, arching an eyebrow and leaning just the slightest bit closer, not wanting to miss a single word.
Amy nodded her head, a proud look crossing her face only briefly. "Yeah, otherwise why would I be here?"
Phil shrugged his shoulders, then wiggled his eyebrows causing her to laugh.
"No, I'm not a ring rat, but thanks for the comparison," Amy shook her head, trying to figure out why she wasn't insulted by him.
He was getting under her skin in all the wrong ways, considering she had a boyfriend.
Phil bit his bottom lip, the small gap in his teeth showing momentarily and Amy found herself leaning forward somewhat to get a closer look at such an endearing little flaw. But she didn't want to be too blatant about it.
"See something you like?" He questioned, his amusement evident. "Not that I would be too surprised."
A wry smile twisted at the corners of her mouth and Amy was almost ready to shoot him down. Almost.
"Smile," she ordered, not the least bit timid about it. "Don't ask questions, just do it."
Phil smirked, at first, but then he smiled a tight lipped smile; not at all what she was going for. And it was like he knew that he was frustrating her. But if he did as she requested, she might leave and he wasn't ready to let her go just yet.
"Are you ticklish?"
"Maybe," he replied casually, "but that's for me to know and if you want to find out, I won't stop you."
Amy was flustered, wanting to take him up on that offer but the little voice in the back of her head firmly reminded her that she had a boyfriend already.
"Maybe some other time."
She realizes that she's left him an open invitation to remain in her life, but he also offered one to her in a sense anyway, so it's only right that she should return the favor. Besides, she's not sure if he'll take up the offer or if he even realizes that it's there.
