Title: Missing Him
Fandom: Wrestling
Characters/Pairing: Lita/CM Punk
Rating: PG
Complete:Yes
Summary: Lita hates saying goodbye to him, more than anything else in the world. But she finds comfort in his kisses.
Prompt: 002. Rain//Table
Notes: A little bit sad. But hey. If this seems weird it's because the first half was written two months ago and the second just today.
His lips taste like rainwater, which would make sense because it’s been falling down around them for fifteen minutes now but she doesn’t want to let him go.
So many people try to lay claim to him, his fans, but they don’t own him.
Even she doesn’t own him, but for a few brief moments in the rain Amy can pretend that she does, pretend that she has accomplished the impossible.
Punk’s lips are warm, dry most of the time so the moist kisses caused by nature’s shower are a nice contrast from the normal.
It’s intoxicating, and his arm is strong at her back, holding her up as her knees shake just the slightest bit.
When she pulls away she’s not entirely sure if the water droplets on her cheeks are from the rain falling down around her or the fact that she’s been crying for even longer than they’ve been kissing.
Punk presses his lips to her forehead, his left hand carefully gripping the back of her skull, holding her against him as though he didn’t want to let her go.
“I’ll miss you,” she murmured, hating how hoarse her voice sounded when she finally spoke.
Inside she felt slightly stupid, because she knew she could live without him but he was going to be gone for a month and she hated that quite a bit. Her feelings of stupidity lessened as she realized the grip he had on her meant that he really didn’t want to be without her too.
“I will miss you too,” Punk murmured against her temple, kissing her just once on the lips and buried his face in her hair lifting her slightly so they were level. “We’ll talk on the phone.”
Amy nodded, swallowing heavily. “And e-mail. You’ll check your e-mail.”
Punk smiled kissing her again, “If you promise to check yours.”
Amy smiled weakly back at him, touching his face. “I’ll still miss you.”
Punk nodded, then pressed his forehead to hers after lowering her back to the ground. “I’ll still miss you too, but we’ll be okay. It’s just a month. Thirty days.”
“Thirty days,” It seemed too long and Amy resisted the girlish urge to clutch at him and not let go. “And then you get two weeks off.”
Punk nodded, nibbling on his bottom lip. “Two weeks, just me, you and Chicago.”
Amy smiled briefly at the reminder about the black lab puppy they’d adopted together. “He’s going to miss you too,” she whispered.
“I’m going to miss him,” Punk replied, his tone just as soft. “Tell Chicago I love him,” he winked before letting her go and walking to his car.
Amy turned to walk to her car, not wanting to watch him go she licked her lips still able to taste him there and hurried a little faster.
She didn’t want the rain to wash the taste of him away after all, especially if she was to be without him for a month.
