The day Kevin broke up with her was the day the first bouquet of stargazer lilies appeared on her desk, placed carefully so as to not disturb any of the controlled chaos there.
She picked them up and sniffed them lightly, warmth flooding her when just last night she’d felt completely lost, not because she’d necessarily loved Kevin per se but because she didn’t like to be alone, as much as she hated to admit it.
“How’s it going baby girl?” a familiar voice asked from the doorway, and she turned card in hand to look at Derek Morgan.
Garcia shrugged her shoulders, “Oh you know. Broke up with Kevin, or rather he broke up with me.”
Derek smirked, shaking his head as he offered her a coffee in a red mug which had ‘Goddess’ written on the side of it. “He doesn’t know what he’ll be missin’ out on, a good job doesn’t compare to a good woman like you.”
Laughing softly Garcia took the mug, glancing at it she looked at him. “For me?” she didn’t mean to allow the surprise to creep into her voice.
“Who else do I consider my goddess?” Derek questioned, tilting her chin up with the tips of his fingers and smiling. “My house tonight okay? 6 p.m sharp, don’t be late.”
“Need me to Clooney-sit?” Garcia asked him, glancing back to the flowers she frowned when she saw there was no real card.
Derek laughed softly, leaving her wondering what was so funny. “No baby girl, just show up okay.”
Garcia nodded, frowning contemplatively as she watched him go and closed the door, wondering if it would be odd to get someone in to fingerprint the wrappings then shook her head, settling in at her computers she tried for once to forget about Derek Morgan and his odd behaviour.
It wasn’t until 4 o’clock when she realized that she should probably get home to change if she was going to go to Morgan’s and by the time she reached his door fifteen minutes late Garcia couldn’t figure out why she felt anticipation building in the pit of her stomach.
Derek opened the door, smiling when he saw her he held out a bouquet so similar to the one that had been on her desk that morning that she gasped and took a step back before gathering herself and stepping forward to take it.
“It was you,” Garcia murmured, smiling up at him. “This is not what I expected at all,” she had seen the way he seduced women into his bed, and flowers were not usual part of it, or cups of coffee.
Derek offered her his hand, pulling her into the house he brushed a kiss across her cheek, reaching the corner of her mouth and she turned, but he stepped back. “I told you I loved you Penelope.”
Garcia’s eyes widened, remembering the scene with him after she’d been shot, remembering how her heart had squeezed at those words.
“You meant that?” she asked him, her tone a little firm, even to her own ears.
“Of course goddess, but why don’t I show you?” Derek took the flowers from her, setting them on the table he guided her with an insistent hand on her back to the bedroom.
“Derek...are you...sure?” Garcia questioned him again as his hands slid up her back when he drew her close, the two of them standing next to the bed.
Derek smiled, kissing her forehead, then both cheeks before finally kissing her on the lips sweetly, and Garcia melted into him, purring into his mouth. “Does that feel sure to you?” he asked her.
Garcia nodded, sliding her hands under his shirt she couldn’t help the soft moan that left her lips at the feel of his firm muscles.
“Should we be moving this fast?” she asked him a moment later, although no hesitation was present in her voice.
Derek smiled against her skin as his mouth moved along her neck. “I didn’t say we were going to have sex Garcia, I seduced you here for a different reason.”
Garcia pulled back, looking up into his eyes apprehensively.
“I’ve been wondering for years, how it would feel...to wake up with you in my arms, and then make love to you in the sun streaming in through that window,” Derek gestured.
Garcia looked surprised, then her cheeks heated and she leaned up, pressing her lips firmly against his with a soft laugh, amazed that this was even happening. “You’ve got a deal precious.”
